Elimination of Jews The Nazi Protector, Baron von Neurath, announced today that Jews are to be eliminated from the economic life of the protectorate. Jewish stores dealing in textiles, clothing and leather goods, he said, would be closed on April 1, after which he would be empowered to close all Jewish businesses. The registration is announced of all Jewish shareholdings in real estate. This will give, with the present control of Jewish banks, a complete hold on Jewish capital. The Gestapo has fined 300 Jews and also is bringing pressure to bear on Jews individually, ordering all to “get out” and saying they can illegally go to Palestine. Bohemia and Moravia are to be incorporated in the Reich Customs Union on April 1. NEW YORK. Feb. 10 The New York Times says two American Franciscan nuns who returned by the Saturnia told how the Nazis seized a church convent 16 miles from Warsaw. Although they personally were not molested, they said nuns in the Polish Corridor and Danzig were forced to adopt ordinary clothes.
