DOMINION CHAMPION APPEARS COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMME The appearance of K. Williams, of the North Shore Club, Auckland, present holder of the New Zealand intermediate 100 yards, 220 yards and ! 440 yards titles was a feature of the j .swimming carnival held by the I Y.M.C.A. Swimming Club in the j Hamilton Municipal Baths on Sat- 1 urday night. Williams, giving away j handicaps up to 43s in the open furlong, came third in the final for j which the time was 2m 26 2-ss. In j his heat Williams recorded 2m 41 1 2-ss. A comprehensive programme was | run off during the evening, including 1 two relays. In the Waikato Banner j competition Hamilton succeeded in . gaining first and second places, while the inter-house relay was won by the Borough Council team. Heavy showers fell throughout the evening but, despite the unfavourable conditions, there was a good attendance and large entries. Conditions were not conducive to good times, however, as the water was colder than usual in February.
