ORANGE RECIPES
Two delightful, but easily made, recipes which will prove very acceptable to your guests at your next supper party:— Orange sandwiches.—lngredients: Two tablespoons orange juice, one teaspoonful lemon juice, one cup castor sugar, two tablespoons soft butter, and some slices of white bread. Mix the orange and lemon juices, stir sugar well in, mix well until smooth. Next cream it into the soft butter. Spread on thin slices of white bread. Serve as supper sandwiches, cut into diamond and heart shapes. Orange delights.—lngredients: Two tablespoons sugar, one egg, one tablespoon cornflour, two dessertspoons butter, a pinch of baking powder, one dessertspoon each of lemon and orange juice, and a little grated orange rind, as well as two tablespoons flour. Cream the butter and sugar, add well-beaten egg, fruit juice and grated rind of orange. Sift in flour, cornflour, baking powder and a little salt. Put the mixture on a greased tin tray, using a small spoonful for each, and allowing a little space between each. Cook for a few minutes in a moderate oven. When cold, ice with orange icing.
