RAIL COLLISION
JIGGER DRIVER ESCAPES (Special to Times.) GREYMOUTH, Friday A collision occurred this evening between a railcar and a jigger at the Greymouth side of Aicken’s. The jigger was driven by a surfaceman, Mr J. Laredo, who jumped clear and suffered only minor injuries to his legs. No one in the railcar was injured. The left-hand and centre windscreens in thp car were broken and the cow-catcher, grill and framework on the front of the car were bent. The jigger was much damaged. The railcar was repaired in time for the return trip to Christchurch this evening, and the Hokitika service today was maintained by a steam train.
