OBITUARY

MR FRANCIS CHARLES JONES The death 'has occurred in Hamilton of Mr Francis Charles Jones, aged 69. He was a corporal in the original tunnelling corps of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force and was badly wounded in 1916, being invalided home. Bom in Auckland, Mr Jones spent most of his life in the Wellington district, where he was a surveyor with the Wellington City Council for 30 years. He retired to Hamilton * three years ago. Mr Jones was a very keen swimmer and was captain of the Swift Swimming Club, Lyall Bay, for a number of years. He is survived by his widow, two sons Messrs Leonard Jones (San Francisco) and Mr Lemuel Jones (Hokitika), and four daughters, Mesdames J. Thompson (Hamilton), Harold Knight (Sydney), A.
