Killer Airedale

Residents of the outskirts of Hastings West have been greatly concerned by the ravages of an Airedale dog, which is responsible for at least 100 fowls being destroyed. The 1 dog is still at liberty, although now bearing wounds inflicted in a series of ' round-ups" that have been organised. When it first commenced its nightly prowls in fowl-runs it was accompanied by a young fox terrier, but the latter was caught in the act one night and destroyed. The Airedale continued its ravages, in one night being responsible for the death of more than 40 prize purebred fowls. Just over a week ago the borough ranger took a long-range shot at the marauder while it was worrying sheep and scored a hit. Since then the dog has been seen limping about. The residents of the ! locality arc being organised for a determined drive to tradk down the l Airedale.
