DRUIDS' INSTALLATION The installation of officers of the U.A.O. Druids for the ensuing year was held in the Friendly Societies’ Hall, Otorohanga, when the district president, Bro. J. Corbett, performed the ceremonies. Visitors from fraternal lodges in other centres were In attendance. , „ Officers were installed as follows: Arch Druid, Bro. George Hyde; vice-arch Druid, Bro. H. Murphy; inside guardian, Bro. Antonovitch; outside guardian, Bro. Waikairl; A.D.B.’s, Bros. Cowley and Meredith; vice-A.D.B.’s, Bros. J. M. Quin and W. Cowley; secretary, Bro. Crossley; M.C., Bro. Thomas McCready; auditor, Bro. B. Addison. The lodge was stated to be increasing steadily in membership. Following the installation ceremonies,, a happy evening was spent by about 70 children who were entertained by the Druids at a Christmas tree party.

GUN CLUB’S DAY CHRISTMAS SIIOOT The Christmas shoot or the Otorohanga Gun Club on the Island Reserve was largely attended by competitors and spectators. The president, Mr H. E. Lawrence, welcomed the visitors ana presented Christmas boxes to each of the honorary stair members. The principal results were:—No. I shoot: J. Wiske 1. A. Webster 2, A. J. McCready 3, J. Dobson 4. No. 5 shoot, double entry (women drew a shooter): Mrs McCready (A. Webster) 1, Mrs M. Pratt (A. Webster) 2, Mrs Henderson (J. Wiske) 3, Mrs Stan August (Murray Pratt) 4. B class shoot: E. J. Moore I, W. Signal 2, 11. E. Lawrence 3. No. 6 shoot: R. Carter 1, J. Dobson 2, W. Signal 3, Murray Pratt 4. Double rise, 5 pairs: S Sutton shot the possible and annexed the prize. No. 7 shoot: R. Carter 1, M. Pratt 2, J. Wiske 3, A. Webster 4. HONIKIWI CALF CLUB Mr W. J. Broaafoot, M.P. Tor Waitomo, presented the prizes in connection with the Honikiwi School’s Calf Club, as follows: Dairy class: R. Sklenars 1, B. Carter 2, Marie Carter 3, John Carter 4. Milking Shorthorns: G. Expupils’ class: Mrs 11. Graham l, M. Taka 2, N. Graham 3. A number or swimming certificates was also presented. RED CROSS PASSES The following members or the Otorohanga branch of the Red Cross Society have passed the first aid eAainination:— V. L. 'long, M. G. Baxter, n. Luxmore, V. P. Mexted, D. Patterson, J. T. Rae, J P. Saunders, L. Sheahan, M. W. Rae, B. L. Shaw, M. W. Sanders, B. Matthews, J. B. Millward and S. M. Holmes. PERSONAL ITEMS Mr Stanley Ellis, or Hamilton, was a week-end visitor to Otorohanga. Mr Robbie, of Wellington, has assumed his duties at the Bank or New Zealand, Otorohanga, filling the vacancy caused by the transfer of Mr J. A. Grant to the North End branch,__at Wellington.
