LABOUR CO-OPERATES

AN ADVISORY COUNCIL CONSULTATION WITH MINISTER (Omclal Wireless) (Received Nov. 2, 2.15 p.m.) RUGBY, Nov. 1 After consultation with the Prime Minister and other Ministers the Trades Union Congress has appointed a committee to be an advisory committee to the Minister of Supply and to the Air Ministry. The National Joint Advisory Council, whose function is to advise the Government on matters in which employers and workers have a common interest, held its first meeting today. The Minister of Labour was in the chair and there was a full attendance of representative members nominated by the British Employers’ Federation and Trades Union Congress general council. Among the subjects discussed were the Reserved Occupations and the Control of Employment Act.
