WAIKATO COMING FIXTURES AUCKLAND CUP TRIAL FINE CONTEST PROMISED Among the features of the Waikato Trotting Club’s approaching spring and summer meetings at Claudelands on December 2 and 9, will be a fast mile and a quarter event on the latter day in which it is hoped the entire Auckland Trotting Cup field will participate. The event is to be called the Auckland Cup Trial and no penalty will be incurred by the winner for the t big Epsom event. The president of the Auckland Club, Mr E. G. Bridgens has donated a handsome 25gn. trophy for the meeting and this will be attached to the stake for the Trial race. Another trotting enthusiast, Mr J. Twohill, president of the Thames Trotting Club, has also presented a valuable trophy of 20gns. Messrs A. Ebbett, J. R. Henderson and G. H. Jew will be going south on Sunday evening to attend the trotting carnival at Addington next week and while there Mr Jew will endeavour to make arrangements with the connections of the champion Australian pacer, Lawn Derby, to visit Hamilton next month, when it is hoped Lawn Derby will make an attempt to lower the mile course record held by Impromptu.
