GOLD IN CHINA NEW ZEALANDER’S REPORT (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) NEW YORK, Sept. 22 The New York Times Chungking correspondent says that returning from north-west Szechuan, in the vicinity of Sungpan, Mr Rewi Alley, the New Zealand technical adviser of the Chinese Industrial Co-opera-tives, described scenes similar to the Klondike rush. He said the quantity of gold in the hills and streams is enormous. Mr Alley is organising and pacifying the fierce tribesmen, whose hostility hitherto has prevented exploitation Thousands are flocking to the scene and boom towns are springing up overnight.
