DAIRY PRODUCTION
PROSPECTS FOR UEABON LITTLE DISEASE APPARENT Dairy production is steadily improving throughout the Waikato, and although pastures have been late in coming away the position as far as feed is concerned is better than it was three weeks ago. As yet it is too early in the season to forcesat the total production in comparison with last year, but the indication at the present time at least is that there will be another decrease. The season to dale has been a late one, and production up to now does not compare favourably with the corresponding period of last year. Although feed has been short throughout the district, some compensation has been found in the fact that the incidence of disease has not been above normal and in some areas has been particularly low. Losses from pulpy kidney” have been reported by some sheep farmers, but on the whole little trouble is being reported in comparison with the previous two seasons.
