TRANSFER OF LAND
AGENTS MAY NOT BE BROKERS (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WELLINGTON, Wednesday Persons are prevented from acting in dual capacities as land agents and land brokers by the Land Transfer Amendment Bill, which w T as put through its remaining stages and passed in the House of Representatives today. The Attorney-General, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, who was in charge of the Bill, refused a request by the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. A. Hamilton, that persons at present engaged in land agency and land broking business should be allowed to carry on, but undertook that before the Bill was passed by the Legislative Council an opportunity would be given for representations to be made.
