COMING STORMS
i BETTER WARNING NEEDED HELPIN G SHEEP FARMERS i (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) j WELLINGTON, Tuesday i Saying that snow and Hoods would j 1 contribute this year towards a light j wool clip. Mr T. D. Burnett (Oppo- |•: si lion—Temuka) made the suggestion In the House of Representatives today that 12-hourly regional weather < forecasts might be made available for 1 the benefit of sheep fanners in the t high country so that they could have 1 better warning than was now available of coming storms. A second proposal was that the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple, should call a conference of all the counties in the snow areas to discuss the latest methods of clearing - snow from roads. This was a task ‘ which involved ample preparation, but it was a form of insurance for sheep owners when it came to transporting their stock.
