LAUNCHING OF CRUISER

QUEEN TO OFFICIATE One of the earliest engagements fixed for the King and Queen in the autumn is in Glasgow, where Her Majesty has consented—though it has not yet been officially made known — to launch and name one of the new cruisers. She will be acompanied on this occasion by the King, and they will make the journey to Glasgow probably by train from Balmoral towards the end of their stay in the Highlands. The launching is fixed for the last week in September or the first week in October, and it will he their Majesties’ first public appearance at an official ceremony north of the Tweed since their Empire journey.
