HAPPY SOCIAL AFTERNOON The Women’s Auxiliary of the National 'Club held a delightful social afternoon yesterday in the club rooms, which were bright with bowls of Iceland poppies and spring flowers. An excellent and varied programme was presented, this being much appreciated by the many members present. During the afternon a demonstration of arts and crafts was given by Mrs W. A. Schultz, which was followed with much interest. Items were contributed by the following:—Mrs H. Biland, violin solos; Miss Alma Sanford, pianoforte solos; Miss Rosalie Seddon, elocutionary items; Mrs Zelda Fahey, elocutionary items. At the conclusion of the entertainment a delicious afternoon tea was served. Miss H. Vyner has undertaken to convene a gardening circle and Mrs W. Schultz has been appointed convenor of an arts and crafts circle. Th© Hostesses The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs Hugh Finlays on, wearing a frock of lacquer rust cotelle, with a toning hat, and Mrs J. Barker, who wore a black tailored suit and a black hat.
