HAPPY FUNCTION
CHILDREN’S BALL AT MATANGI The Matangi Hall presented a scene of gaiety and charm recently, the occasion being the annual plain and « fancy dress children’s hall, organised | by the women of the Anglican Church, i Excellent music was played by Mrs Leckie, Mrs Webster, and Mr -Clayton, and Mr A. Webster was master of ceremonies. A feature of ftlie evening was the grand march, after which a varied programme of dances and games was presented by the children and much enjoyed by the parents and spectators. Praise is due to Mrs J. Ranstead, Senr., for the splendid organisation of the dances, and the flne display given 1 by the large number of children. A delicious supper was served to ! the children, the tables being charm- | in-gly arranged with bowls of daffodils, . jonquils, and greenery. 1 After supper the floor was avail- j able for the adults and an enjoyable ; evening concluded with a dance, Mr j D.
