DISLIKED COUNTRY

WIFE LEAVES HUBBAND ORDER FOR RESTITUTION Objections to living in a country town were stated to have been the reason for his wife leaving him, when William Frederick Howard Meek, a builder's foreman, of Hamilton, was granted a decree for the restitution of conjugal rights by Mr Justice Blair, in the Supreme Court, Hamilton, yesterday. In evidence the petitioner said he was married to the respondent, Ruby Meek, of Te Awamutu, on October 24, 1923. There were no children of the marrii-ue and the couple lived together at Huntly and later at Hamilton until 1937. From January to October of that year the petitioner was working at Tirau and his wife boarded with him at an hotel. After two months she left Tirau and took lodgings in Hamilton, where she took a position as she was not content with living in the country town. For the same reason the respondent would not live at Tauranga where the petitioner bought a house in 1938. The respondent now refused to live with him again and wanted a separation. Ground of Separation Upon the grounds of separation, Christina Anne Edmond ,Mr J. F. Keane, Rotorua), was granted a decree nisi. The respondent, William Edmond ,Mr F. A. Swarbriek , withdrew defence of the case. Petitioner said she was married on August 19, 1932, at the Ritgistrar’s ufiico, Hamilton. There was one child who, when the parties decided to separate four years ago, remained with the respondent for a year until going to live with the petitioner. The petitioner said she had not asked her husband for maintenance and he had not contributed towards her own keep or that of her child.
