AVIATION AGREEMENT
CANADA AND UNITED STATES THE ROUTE TO ALASKA (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) WASHINGTON, Aug. 19 The way for a non-stop air route to link Alaska with the United States has been paved by the completion of a civil aviation agreement with Canada. This practically erases the air frontier and aircraft will be able to circulate almost as if Canada and the United States were one country. American air companies state that I the route to Alaska hitherto has been ! baulked by British interests, which are ! alarmed by American penetration to Australia and the Orient. They fear that the granting of permission to lly non-stop over Canada will interfere with their own plans for a service to the Orient, via Canada and Alaska.
