WOMEN’S GOLF
CHAMPIONSHIP MEET SOUTH AUCKLAND TITLES DRAW FOR FIRST ROUND The South Auckland Women's Open Golf Championships will commence at the St. Andrews links, Hamilton, to-morrow morning and will continue over Wednesday and Thursday. Tomorrow two qualifying rounds will be played, the first 16 qualifying for the Ellis Cup, the second 16 for the Fraser Cup and the third 16 for a Flight Match. In conjunction with these rounds morning and afternoon medal rounds in two divisions (0 16 and 17—25) will be played. The number of entries was limited to 90 and champions from 12 clubs are competing. Included in the list are 14 players who have handicaps in single “ figures. Two very young players are Miss Shirley Curtis, of New Plymouth, on an 11 handicap and Miss Susan Banks, of Cambridge, on a 15 handicap.
