DEFEAT OF MANGATAWHIRI VERY EVEN CONTEST (Special to Times) MORRINSVILLE, Saturday The senior representative game played at Morrinsville Recreation Ground to-day against Mangatawhiri resulted in a win for Morrinsville after a very even contest. Morrinsville attacked from the commencement of play and was awarded a penalty kick near Mangatawhiri's twenty-five. The kick failed and Mangatawhiri forwards travelled the whole length of Ihe field, Morrinsville saving with a force down. Morrinsville kept up the pressure and from a scrum Chase scored a good try. Johnson's kick at goal hit the post. From the kick-off Mangatawhiri attacked. but. the Morrinsville fullback cleared with a good kick. Morrinsvill© was awarded a penalty kick inside the Mangatawhiri’s twenty-five and Davidson goaled. Mangatawhiri carried the play to Morrinsville’s line but a forward pass enabled Morrinsville to clear from the the scrum and from a line-out at the halfway tlag Barker broke away with a great run, but was held up near Mangatawhiri’s goal-line, play then going to th-e centre of the field.
