BETTER OFF OUTSIDE
NEW ZEALAND AND THE LEAGUE CRITICISM OF MR JORDAN (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WELLINGTON, Friday The opinion that New Zealand would be better off to be out of the League of Nations altogether than to have the High Commissioner in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, representing it at Geneva, was expressed by Mr 11. G. Dickie (Opposition—Pateu. in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Jordan had been more of a hindrance than a help at Geneva, Mr Dickie said, amt so far as his actions there were concerned New Zealand would have been better off if it had been out of the League altogether. He had been a nuisance to Great Britain, both as to sanctions and collective security. Mr Dickie said lie was entirelv opposed to the statements made by the Chairman of Committees, Mr It. McKern. and Mr C. L. Carr (Government —Timaru 'concerning British foreign policy. Both savoured strongly of disloyalty. The Speaker: The lion, gentleman must not use that term. Mr Dickie: I withdraw.
