KENNEL CLUB

SHOW JUDGE APPOINTED SPECIAL CLASS FOR CHILDREN The committee of the Hamilton Kennel Club recently made some important alterations for future observance. The schedule will provide “that the dogs whilst at the show will be periodically examined by Government veterinary surgeons.” In reference to the cups and trophies it was resolved they would be eligible for competition only by financial members; the cash specials to be open to all exhibitors. A special class for children has been included to be open to all breeds. The dogs would not be the property of the exhibitors and they will be judged on the Saturday. The Ribbon Parade Mention was made of the satisfactory ribbon parade which was held in spite of a very cold and showery day. Great appreciation was expressed at the manner Mr and Mrs J. Graham carried out the judging in spite of the weather conditions. The courtesy of the Waikato A. and P. Association and the Waikato Trotting Club in granting the use of the showgrounds was recorded and appreciation expressed to Messrs Nestles Ltd for their donation of sweets for the children’s events. Mr J. Soler, of Owhango. was appointed for the annual show to be held on October 27 and 28. Mr T. G. Mullan donated a trophy which was allocated to the Old English sheep dogs and Mrs J. Hawkins offered a trophy for the best groomed dog. For the children’s classes trophies have been presented by Miss P. C. von Sturmer. Dr. W. R. Fea and the president (Mr D. D. Wilson).
