ROADS BLOCKED
MAIN CENTRAL ROUTE TROUBLE AT PAIRERE Advice was received from the Hamilton area office of the Automobile Association (Auckland) today that the main central route to Wellington is blocked between Taumarunui and Taihape. The Parapara road to Wanganui is impassable as are also the Taupo-National Park and Waikaremoana roads. If is only with difficulty that traffic is getting through to Napier from Taupo, while the Paircre Road, on the Hamilton-Tauranga route, is blocked and motorists ad advised to travel via Morrinsville and Matamata, where a tar-sealed surface is available over the whole route.
