Every day wasted increases the danger of war. The Polish Commissioner, M. Chodacki, has gone to Danzig, where the Poles are indignant over German persecution, says a despatch from Warsaw. The German news agency says that 4461 German refugees from Poland have been accommodated in camps across the frontier. The total number of refugees since the beginning of August is 76,535, most of whom have been given work. The Polish press claims that 386 Poles were arrested between January 1 and July 1, while 417 families were j forced out of the Free City, and Polish I children were ordered to attend Ger- ■ j man schools. ‘ I Reported to have been the result of ; ! the discovery of a widespread plot centred in German Silesia to undermine Polish authority, hundreds of Nazis have been arrested, including Jankowski, leader of the German Workers’ Union.
