Peter Pan’s Letter

JJEAR GIRLS AND BOYS, N! This last week has not been the slightest bit like Spring weather with ail the heavy showers and cold days, has it ? The Sunshine Girl was very disappointed when It rained on Monday and again on Tuesday, because, she said, she couldn’t write a story on Spring if the Weather Man insisted on sending wintry weather. The Twins were very cross too, “ ’cause,” said Jenne, “It’s not a bit fair spoiling our Spring Page like this, is It Peter?” Peter’s garden is very beautiful though, for there are such lovely Spring surprises everywhere. On Monday, there were deep purple flag lilies in bloom beside some white and gold narcissus whose satin petals looked very fresh and dainty, and not far away two golden rosebuds were just bursting their green Jackets, while the raindrops caught the rays of the sun as they pierced the grey skies and the satiny petals shone like diamonds. A friend of Peter’s sent him a box of golden gorse and now there Is such a lovely almondy scent filling his room, and on Tuesday there was a bush of flame azalea just bursting into bloom and close by Peter found a tree of flowering-peach with its delicate pink petals gleaming In the tiny sunbeams which must have slipped from their boxes unnoticed.

And now lots and lots of lov© to you all, From yours, waiting for real Spring Smiles, And golden days from the Weather Man,
