WOMEN’S DIVISION

RAGLAN —KARIOI BRANCH The August meeting of the RaglanKarioi branch of the Women’s Division was held on Friday last, Mrs \. E. Pegler presiding. A welcome was extended to a new member and several visitors. The birthday roll-call in charge of Mrs No like was called, members receiving small gifts. The meeting day was changed to the first Friday in each month. Schedules for the forthcoming flower show were distributed, a motion being passed that Mrs Noel Adams, Dominion president of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union, be invited to open the show. A gift for the Division was received from Mrs Lomas, a former member, a vote of thanks being passed for her generosity. A vote of sympathy to Mrs Matheson. jun., was passed, in her recent bereavement. Members of the Provincial Council are to be invited to the November meeting, which will commence in the morning. Notes on the recent Dominion conference were read by the president, and discussed by members. The birthday party is to be held in October, arrangements for same to be discussed at the next meeting. Songs were rendered by Mrs ft. Cowley. Afternoon tea was served by members of the Karioi section.
