PRECAUTIONS IN AMERICA AVOIDANCE OF CRASHES (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright; WASHINGTON, August 16 The Air Safety Board lias recommended that full feathering propellers be compulsory in the equipment of American passenger aircraft. The board reported that fl ve recent crashes of air liners, involving 19 deaths, might have been averted if they had been equipped with these propellers, which stop rotating when the engines stop, thereby eliminating »:bration and reducing drag.
