THIRTEENTH ANNUAL BALL

RATEPAYERS AND CITIZENS’ ASSN. The thirteenth annual ball held by the lluntly Ratepayers’ and Citizens’ ! Association in the Town Hall, lluntly, recently, was even more successful than former functions held by the association. Festoons of streamers in red. yellow and white, intermingled with clusters of multi-coloured balloons created an effective decorative scheme in the ballroom. The supper room j was similarly decorated, the tables be- j ing tastefully arranged with vases of ; pink and mauve paper stocks. j Excellent music was provided by Pedcn’s Dance Band, and extras con- > iribut.ed by Mr Kio Tarawhiti and Miss j M. McGruer, of Ngaruawahia, and! Messrs W. Shaw and S. Battrum were j much appreciated. Mr J. Tait was j master of ceremonies. During the evening a grand march was held, led by the president, Mr J. Gray, and Miss M. B. Gray, from which j the belle of the ball was chosen. Miss j Gladys Russell, who was awarded the j prize, was wearing a frock of azure blue georgette, with a frilled bolero. Novelty dances were won by Miss P. Harrison and Mr J’. Williams, and Miss (1. Geraghtv and Mr R. Ilogg, and Miss D. Cowan and Mr L. Simpson.
