SOVIETS DELAY
MENACE TO PEACE ANGLO-FRENCH PROPOSAL SATISFACTION IN BERLIN (Official Wireless) (Received June 27, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, June 26 The Prime Minister, Mr Neville Chamberlain, in the House of Commons, stated that Britain, in consultation with France, was considering the Soviet's comments on the proposals which Sir William Seeds, British Am-
bassador, and M. Paul, Naggiar, French displomat, submitted to M. Molotoff following the arrival of Mr W. Strang, British Foreign Ofiice, Counsellor, in Moscow. Viscount Halifax hoped shortly to be in a position to send further instructions to Sir William Seeds. Replying to a question by Dr. H. Dalton Labour . the Prime Minister reiterated his view that a visit by a Minister of the Crown to Moscow would not help. Dr. Dalton then asked: “Is It not clear that these outstanding difficulties are causing great satisfaction in Berlin and increasing the risk of new German aggression and a general war in Europe?” The Prime Minister replied: “That may be so and I hope It is In the minds of the Bov!et also.”
