SALE OF LIQUOR
KING COUNTRY AREA TE Kl’lTl. Thursday Fines totalling £loo were imposed on two defendants by Mr W. 11. Freeman. S.M.. in She Police Court. James William Smith, of Piopio, faced a charge of keeping liquor for sale, and two charges of failing lo notify liquor brought into the King Country. Defendant was fined £SO on the first charge, and £lO on each of the other two charges. Edward Ernest Baker, bottle gatherer, was fined £2O on a charge of keeping liquor for sale, and on each of two charges of failing to notify liquor brought to a proclaimed area he w«u> lined £5 and costs.
