STAG TROPHY COMPETITION OPENING ON MAY 6 The Stag Trophy Rugby competition in the Waikato will open on Saturday, May 6, according to a decision reached at a meeting of the Central committee last evening. It was reported that this year there would be ten teams in the competition and an excellent seasons play was anticipated. There will be four teams from Hamilton (City, Old Boys, Technical Old Bovs and Frankton), two from Cam-bridge (United and Hautapu). two from Te Awamutu (Te Awarnutu and Rovers), one from Taupiri and one from Putaruru. Both the Cambridge and Te Awamutu Sub-unions requested that they should be allowed to play their f matches against their home teams - next Saturday, April 29, Instead of later in the season, when they are drawn and the requests were granted in both instants.
