GOEBBELS’ OUTBURST LORD HALIFAX CRITICISED ROOSEVELT'S TRUMPET BLAST United Press Assn.— Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received April 22, 3.13 p.m.) BERLIN, April 21 “The inhabitants of Palestine are a suppressed people, and the other Dominions and colonies in the British Empire will note with a bitter laugh Lord Halifax's assurance that Britain wants peace and protection of property.'’ writes Dr. Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda, in the Yolkischcr BeoLachtcr. He describes Lord Halifax's speech in the House of Lords on Wednesday as “hotchpotch, nonsense and platitudes,” containing all the arguments of the British party led by Messrs Churchill, Eden and DuffCooper, and London errs in thinking that such speeches impress the German people. “President Roosevelt blew the same trumpet with full lungs; it sounded louder and was typically American.” Dr. Goebbels added that Britain had a different concept of justice from Germany; and its Government was mainly responsible for lowering the tone of international relations.
