■TEST No. M MILKING MACHINE EFFICIENCY Any farmer who desires to have his milking plant in 100 per cent working order so that he can have maximum efficiency in the milking shed will be interested in this test. Leave your cows in the bail for 10 minutes after milking, then test to see if the udder still contains milk. This simple test is advised because it has been found that numerous milking machines which are in operation are milking on too high a vacuum- Cows resent the high vacuum of the ordinary milking machine and consequently they withhold an amount of their milk. The only machine which overcomes the difficulty successfully is the one with automatic vacuum control such as the Hutchinson Individual Milker. Up to the present time this machine has withstood criticism and tests throughout New Zealand; abortive attempts have been made to copy It but now it ranks as the last and most successful device for milking.
