Peter Pan's Letter

dear girls axd boys, And now another year has flown past and on Tuesday, April 2d, wc will again remember those men upon whose graves the scarlet I landers poppies nod their heads, and white crosses stand out against the darkening skies of a far distant land. Those men, whose lives were laid down that we might live in peace and contentment and uis on this Da y °f Remembrance that so many thoughts are centred tnroughout the year . It is then that the voices of the living raise in proud thanksgiving and prayer for those who fell and the air rings once again with the sound of the marching feet of soldiers who cherish the memory of their fallen comrades. And on this day too, there will be masses of wreaths and bouquets of flotvers placed on the cenotaphs and beneath the trees, beautiful in colouring and woven together with the gentle fingers of love and filled with the liveliest perfumes. On Tuesday Peter sate so many bright scarlet poppies, which the Returned Soldiers made, and worn by nearly every person she met, in glowing tribute lo those Heroes who died on Anzac Cove. Row upon roiv the crosses stand, The highest honour they command, These white crosses and poppies red, Remind us of Our Glorious Dead. Those, whose laughter rang so clear And filled the earth they loved so dear. Those who heard the shrill trumpets call, Rushed to battle, to fight and fall, Who laughed at Death, and fought that we In peace may live, content and free. Peter hopes that each little member will wear a flower in remembrance of those who lost their lives far beyond our shores but whose memory is living with us, for ever, and that you will all spare a thought for those who returned crippled and wounded. With love from your own, fete*.
