CHAMBERS JONES SATIN BRIDAL GOWN MAIDS IN SWISS ORGANDI St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, was the se-tting of a charming wedding on Easter -Saturday, April 9, when Miss Ellaline Juanita Jones, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Owen Jones, of Claudelands, was married to Mr R. Gordon Simons Chambers, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. H. Chambers, of Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. 11. J. Lilburn. the organist being Mr E. 11. Apthorp. The bride, who was given away b> her father, wore a lovely gown of magnolia pearl satin. The prettily shirred bodice, with squared shoulderline and long-fitting sleeves, was finished with a Peter Pan collar and was buttoned clown the back from neck to waistline. The slim-fltting skirt fell to form a long train, beautifully appliqued in French lace in a floral design. Her magnolia tulle veil, which was worn over the face, was held on (he head bv a cluster of orange blossom mounted on tiny satin plaited hands and formed a second train. She carried a sheaf of cream roses and cactus dahlias. Attendants’ Gowns In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Doreen Hast. Auckland, and Miss Kathleen Chambers, sister of the bridegroom. Misses Mary Kearvell and Olwyn Kearvell, nieces of the bride, were flower-girls. The bridesmaids were dressed alike in dainty frocks of sky blue Swiss organdi over taffeta, fashioned in redingote style and finished with tiny scallops and fully puffed sleeves, the" waistline being softly swathed with blue and pink georgette. On their heads were worn twists of silk straw matching the frocks, and bouquets of pink and blue flowers were carried. The flowergirls were similarly attired in frocks of shell pink Swiss organdi and they carried posies to match. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Lawrence 'r. Bramwell as best man, and the groomsman was Mr Trevor Rocked. The ushers at the church were Mr It. J. Powell and Mr L. R. Gower. The Reception After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Centreway Rooms, where Mrs Jones received the guests wearing an ensemble of dove-grey French suede cloth and navy accessories, and she carried a posy of pink cactus dahlias. The bridegroom’s mother. Mrs AV. 11. Chambers, wore a frock of black crinkle brocade with accessories to match and she carried a posy of deep pink dahlias. DAVIES—WILSON MAGNOLIA-SHADED SATIN A charming wedding took place on Monday, April 10, in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, when Ethel Eleanor, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. M. Wilson, of Hillcrest Road, Hamilton, was married to Arthur James, only son of Mr and Mrs A. E. Davies, of Balmoral Road, Auckland. The Rev. H. G. Gilbert was the officiating minister and Mr E. H. Apthorp presided at, the organ. The church had been artistically arranged with bowls of cyclamen and cream flowers by friends of the bride. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a lovely frock of magnolia satin, -the slim-fitting bodice being fastened down the front with tiny buttons and fashioned with a low neckline. The long sleeves,

which were shirred at the shoulders, were finished with buttons at the wrist and the full skirt was caught with orange blossom and fell to form a long fan-shaped train. Her beautiful tulle veil, which was worn over the face on entering -the church, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom and satin leaves, and she carried a crest-shaped bouquet of tuber roses and cream gardenias. Georgette and Taffeta Frocks She was attended by Miss Yvonne Blackmore and Miss Noel Coombes, of Auckland, as bridesmaids, who wore similar frocks of gefn green georgette over taffeta. The shirred bodices were fashioned with heart-shaped necklines and short' sleeves, puffed at the shoulder, while the long skirts flared from the hipline. They wore top-knots of zinnias and chrysanthemums in cyclamen shades ajid carried crestshaped bouquets to match. Two little flower girls. Jean Harvey (Waiuku). cousin of the bride, and Heather McMiken. Hamilton, wore similar frocks to those of the bridesmaids, fashioned with tiny Peter Pan collars. Sprays of flowers were worn on their hair and they carried posies of pastel-shaded flowers to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. Ferguson, of Auckland, as best man. and Mr B. Carter as groomsman. The ushers at the church were Mr L. Allen and Mr G. Ferguson. After the ceremony a reception was held at. the Centreway Rooms, where Mrs Wilson received the guests wearing a model frock of rust crepe trimmed with applique. Her matching peach bloom hat was mounted with a quill, and she carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers. The bridegroom’s mother was wearing a navy ensemble with navy bat. and she carried a bouquet of red roses and maidenhair fern. When Mr and Mrs A. J. Davies left by car for their wedding trip, the bride travelled in an airforce blue tailored costume, cyclamen blouse, navy accessories, and furs. They will make their home in Wellington. The bridegroom's mother was wearing a navy floral dress with a navy marocain coat and hat to match. When Mr and Mrs V. L.
