MEAT AT SMITHFIELD LATEST MARKET QUOTATIONS
'By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELL IN GT ON, Friday The New Zealand Meat Producers’ F'-ard’s report on the Smithfleld market. for the period ended April 20 states that in the lamb market, with | the exception of prime lightweights, j prices are a shade easier. Consump- j Hon is good but heavy spot stocks and ' low prices for beef and mutton are depressing the market. Trade in j wethers is slow and prices easier where changed. Ewes are quiet with prices unchanged. Frozen beef is neglected owing to the low prices for ' chilled. Chilled beef is slightly firmer on good trade but supplies are heavy. ■ The trade in New Zealand porker pigs ! is slow owing to the warm weather, j Baconer pigs are quiet and unchanged, j 'There is better trade m boneless bobby veal with a firmer tendency.
