Acclimatisation Year Liberation of 4000 peasant, 22,000 brown trout flngerlings and 407,000 rainbow trout fincorlings throughout the Auckland district during the past year is reported in the annual review of the activities of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society. The report states that the society's accumulated funds stand at £3643. A total of 1610 fishing licenses was issued, compared with 1522 the previous season, and revenue amounted to £1430, compared with £1360.
Worthless Postal Notes Worthless postal notes have been circulating in Waihi. Many tradespeople have accepted them, but there are irregularities which make them invalid. The notes bear the issue stamp of Ohau, near Palmerston North, where a robbery occurred at the post office on March 31. The> arc or denominations of from 0s 6d to more |than £l. Businessmen in Te Aroha were similar!j duped.
