ARTIST'S ETCHING

CHANGED FORTUNE ACCEPTED BY THE KINO FORMERLY BEGGED IN S'IREET (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, April 20 The King and Queen Mary have accepted four proofs of a portrait etching of the King by an Australian artist, Mr Henry Rayner, which Queen Mary recently noticed at an amateur art exhibition. She requested proofs for herself and the King. Mr Rayner, who came to England in 1924, was almost bedridden for several year. In an interview he said: “I struck a bad patch in 1933 and was reduced to begging in the street and trying to sell my etchings. I sold 2000 of them last year for sixpence each, although some brought between £2 and £3.”
