The Hon. A. Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, prior to undertaking a tour of North Auckland, will arrive in Auckland on Thursday. In the evening he will address a meeting of members and on the following day will visit the Franklin and Otahuhu electorates. Mr Frank Norris, managing editor for foreign news on the staff of the American weekly Time, will visit New Zealand in August. Mr George F. Rox, manager for the Radio Celebrities Concert Party, arrived in Hamilton to-day to arrange for the forthcoming concert here. At the monthly meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board a welcome was extended to Mr W. R. Lowry, who returned to his seat on the board after a long illness. Mr A. H. Davey, assistant general manager of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company, Limited, returned this morning from the Dairy Board conference at Wellington. Mr A. J. Shailer, of Palmerston North, who visited Hamilton yesterday to judge at the Hamilton Horticultural Society’s chrysanthemum show, returned south last evening. Mr W. E. Hale, chairman of the New Zealand Dairy Board, returned from Wellington this morning after attending the board’s annual conference. Mr S. A. Ferguson, chairman of the South Auckland Dairy Association, returned this morning from Wellington, where he attended the Dairy Board conference. Mr F. W. Seifert, chairman of directors of the Morrinsville Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, who attended the Dairy Board conference in Wellington, returned this morning. Flight-Lieutenant P. E. Hudson arrived at Auckland by the Akaroa yesterday to take up a position with the Government as a civil aviation operations officer.

Messrs W. Marshall, of Paeroa, and F. O. R. Phillips, of Otorohanga, directors of the New Zealand Gooperative Dairy Company, who attended the Dairy Board conference in Wellington, returned this morning.

Messrs P. Tullock, T. M. Ross, A. McLean, W. G. Leatham, M. Walworth (Wellington), H. C. Park, H. Knox, V. A. Christie, J. Sullivan (Auckland) and G. McGregor (Hastings) are at the Hamilton Hotel.

Mr O. V. Lattimore, supervisor at the Morrinsville Post Office for the past nine years, is leaving shortly on promotion to be postmaster at Otorohanga. Mr C. G. Anderson, postmaster at Motu, will replace Mr Lattirnore at Morrinsville.

Messrs J. Howe (Palmerston North) P. Drummond, W. Crewes, J. Millar, A. L. Ward (Auckland), H. Stevenson (Rotorua), H. D. Yeldon (New Plymouth), 11. Fitzmaurice and J. O. Bailey (Napier) are at the Midland Hotel.

Dr. A. R. Lillie arrived at Auckland from England by the Akaroa yesterday to take up a position with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. Dr. Lillie is a graduate of Edinburgh and Geneva Universities and has recently been engaged in research work in France.

Ten days are to be spent in Western Samoa by Dr. R. M. Campbell, economic adviser to the High Commissioner for New Zealand, Mr W. J. Jordan, who left Wellington for Apia by the Maui Pomare on Tuesday. Dr. Campbell, who has been taking part in the freight contract negotiations for the shipment of New Zealand refrigerated produce to the United Kingdom, will iater proceed to American Samoa and there join the Monterey for San Francisco, en route to London.
