WEDDINGS
EDMONDS—SIMPSON PINK LACE GOWN A charming wedding was solemnised in the Anglican Church, Matamata, on April 13, when Margaret Lulu, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. \V. 'Simpson. Burwood Road, Matamata, was married to Arthur, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Edmonds, Palmerston North. Canon F. Ouintrell officiated at the ceremony, and Mr P. C. Ingham presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore an exquisite gown of peach pink lace, cut on Empire lines, and featuring dainty trimmings of pink tulle. A large picture hat of stiffened net and lace was worn, with satin streamers falling to Ihe hem of the frock, and she carried a bouquet of cream ami pink carnations and dahlias. The Attendants Misses Pat Simpson .and Dora Cranswick, attended as bridesmaids, and wore graceful frocks of ripple chiffon in a deeper shade of pink designed with fitting shirred bodices, puff sleeves and full flared skirts. They wore picture hats of stiffened net trimmed with ribbon streamers, and carried bouquets of Belladonna lilies and pink dahlias arranged with maidenhair fern. Mr Mac. Simpson carried out the duties of best man, and Mr G- McDonald acted as groomsman. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in a large marquee on the lawn at "Ficldhouse,” Burwood Road, where the guests were received by Mrs J. W. Simpson. Mrs Simpson wore a becoming ensemble of mulberry marquisette, with black accessories. She carried a bouquet of mulberry tinted flowers. The bridegroom's mother was wearing a smart navy costume, with fur necklet, and a navy halo hat, trimmed with a white and navy spotted veil.
