LEVIES INCREASED

HOSPITAL BOARD FIGURES LOCAL BODY PAYMENTS £2230 MORE FROM HAMILTON The levies on local bodies In the Waikato Hospital Board’s area for the maintenance of the Waikato Hospital were considered at the meeting of the Board to-day and a general increase of 41-4 per cent, as recommended in the estimates, was approved. The total amount to be levied from the local bodies this year is £02,549 compared with £44,238 last year an increase of £18,311. The Hamilton Borough Council levy has been increased from £5700 to £7930, an increase of £2230 while the Matamata, Waikato and Waipa and Raglan County Councils have also had their levies increased £2,000 and over.
