STOCK SALES
MATAMATA RATES Messrs Dalgetv and Company, Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale at Matamata on Wednesday. There was a small yarding of sheep, which consisted entirely of store lambs, and a medium entry of cattle. Prices for all classes of cattle were again somewhat dull but on a par with Frankton rates. Heavy Shorthorn cows made £5 10s to £5 12s; fat Jersey cows, £4 12s to £5 ss; fat Jersey heifers, £4 to £4 10s; heavy cows. £3 5s to £3 15s, medium £2 to £3 2s 6d, light 25s to £1 19s; potter bulls, medium weight £3 10s to £5; store Southdown lambs, small 6s to 7s Id. A small yarding of fat pigs came forward with a medium yarding of stores. Fat pigs sold freely at prices lirni on late rates. Stores were fully up to late rates. No prime top-weight baroners were penned. Prime heavy baroners made £3 10s to £3 12s. heavy £3 8s to £3 10s. prime medium £3 6s to £3 Bs. medium £3 4s to £3 6s. prime light £3 to £3 4s, licht £2 13s to £3: prime heavy porkers and light baroners, £2 10s to £2 15s; prime heavy porkers £2 5s to £2 10s. heavy £2 to £2 ss, prime medium 33s to £2. medium 30s to 355. prime light 25s to 30s. light 20s to 255; choppers, medium £3 to £3 ss, others 30s to £3; medium store pigs 15s to 18> 6d. small 10s to 15s, slips 8s to 11s. we.iners 2s to Bs.
