MATAMATA RATES Messrs Dalgetv and Company, Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale at Matamata on Wednesday. There was a small yarding of sheep, which consisted entirely of store lambs, and a medium entry of cattle. Prices for all classes of cattle were again somewhat dull but on a par with Frankton rates. Heavy Shorthorn cows made £5 10s to £5 12s; fat Jersey cows, £4 12s to £5 ss; fat Jersey heifers, £4 to £4 10s; heavy cows. £3 5s to £3 15s, medium £2 to £3 2s 6d, light 25s to £1 19s; potter bulls, medium weight £3 10s to £5; store Southdown lambs, small 6s to 7s Id. A small yarding of fat pigs came forward with a medium yarding of stores. Fat pigs sold freely at prices lirni on late rates. Stores were fully up to late rates. No prime top-weight baroners were penned.
