ATE ANT POISON

DEATH OF TWO CHILDREN (From a Correspondent.) MELBOURNE, April 10. After consuming a quantity of ant poison at their home at Tindarra. 20 miles from Bendigo, Patricia Pollock (3), her brother Roy, and sister, Margaret 4 . collapsed. Patricia and Roy died shortly afterwards and Margaret is gravely ill. The parents were out milking and left the children in the house. With Patricia dying in the car and Margaret critically ill their father raced his car 25 miles through a storm, but Patricia was dead when he reached hospital. The car had to be stopped on sevo,.al occasions owing to the storm. It i, believed that the children obtained ! the poison from a 7ft shelf. The first indication of the tragedy was I when the baby. Roy. was noticed with a tin of poison and a spoon in his hand. The children were admitted to a nursing home, where emetics were administered but without avail.
