DEADLOCK CONTINUES ATTITUDE OF DOCTORS ‘‘Until the Government is prepared to negotiate with the British Medical Association and consider the scheme it ha-s put forward, things are at a dead end," said Dr. Garfield Crawford, president of the Southland branch of the association, commenting on the social security scheme. “The Government's scheme is not in the interests of the public, and not acceptable to the profession. You cannot expect a man to accept a posi* tion in an office without telling him first what you are going to pay him and what the conditions are, and the medical profession is in that position. The Government has had months to treat with the doctors and has not done so.”
