LOUDEN LUXTON IVORY SATIN BRIDAL GOWN St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Hamilton, was the scene of a charming wedding on the afternoon of Saturday, April 15, when Kathleen, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. D. Luxton, of King Street, Frankton, was married to Knowles, only son of Mr and Mrs G. Louden, of Stanley Street, Hamilton. The Rev. C. L. J. Luxton, brother of the bride, performed ttie marriage ceremony and Mr H. Cook was the organist. The church had been beautifully arranged with bowls of Belladonna lilies and Michaelmas daisies.

The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory satin cut. on classical lines with chrysanthemum patterned lace inset in the train. Her lovely tulle veil fell from a halo of orange blossom to form a second train and she carried a sheaf of chrysanthemums and Easter lilies. Mermaid Blue Chiffon

The two bridesmaids, Miss Myrtle Maunder and Miss Paddy Luxton, cousins of the bride, wore similar frocks to that of the bride in mermaid blue chiffon, the hemline and tiny puffed sleeves being finished with frills. They wore head-dresses to tone and carried bouquets of peach-shaded dahlias, begonias and maidenhair fern. The little flower-girl, Barbara Gunn, niece of the bride, was dressed in miniature of the bridesmaids and carried a basket of peach-shaded flowers.

Mr Ralph Fear was the best man and Mr Stephen Clark was the

groomsman. The ushers at the church were Messrs G. W. Moore, R. Luxton, B. Caldwell, and I. Hamilton. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Centreway Rooms which had been beautifully arranged with peach-shaded dahlias. Mrs Luxton received the guests wearing a smart black frock with lace yoke, with a hat to tone, mounted with ostrich feathers. Her bouquet was composed of pink rosebuds and asparagus fern. The mother of the bridegroom was wearing a navy blue ensemble and a halo hat to tone finished with ostrich feathers. She carried a bouquet of j apricot rosebuds and dahlias. Mrs Buckley, grandmother of the bride, was wearing a black coat and frock, and a small black hat. She carried a posy of autumn-tinted chrysanthemums. When Mr and Mrs K. Louden left by car for a tour of the North Island, the bride travelled wearing a black tailored costume with matching tailored coat and furs, and a black tricorne hat, finished with a veil and matching accessories. They will make their home in Hamilton. FLETCHER—MURPHY St. Patrick's Cathedral, Auckland, was the scene of a very quiet wedding of Te Awamutu interest on the evening of Saturday, April 8, when Mr John Huntly Fletcher, Te Awamutu, second son of Mr and Mrs A. Fletcher, Hamilton, and Miss Florence Evelyn (Pat) Murphy, third daughter of Mrs and the late Mr J. Murphy, of Auckland, were married. The Rev. Dr. Buxton officiated, and Mr 11. Iliscocks presided at the organ. The bride wore a heavy cream embossed velvet frock, cut on slimming lines, with long-fitting sleeves, high cowl neck and a long train. The long tulle veil was finished with a charming headdress and her bouquet was a sheaf of cream Madonna lilies. The bridesmaids were Misses D. Murphy and G. Edwards, the former wearing cyclamen georgette with satin applique, while her companion was attired in sage green georgette also appliqued in satin. They carried cyclamen dahlias forming shower buuquets. Mr F. W. Edwards carried out the duties of best man and Mr J. Cox was the groomsman. After the wedding, a reception was held at the home of Mrs F. W. Edwards, Titirangi, where the mother of the bride received the guests wearing a black ensemble. Mr and Mrs J. H. Fletcher later,left on a brief honeymoon, the bVide travelling in a storm-blue suit with burgundy accessories. They will make their home in Te Awamutu. MURRAY—LOZELL ICE-BLUE CREPE FROCK The wedding took place at St. Margaret’s Church, Te Kauwhata, on the morning of Wednesday, March 29, when Elizabeth Mabel, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. S. Lozell, Waitakaruru, was married to James Ernest, only son of Mr and Mrs E. Murray(, of “Long View,” Te Kauwhata. The Rev. J. J. Heard was the officiating minister and Mrs Sewell was the organist. The church had been beautifully arranged by friends of the bride with bowls of autumn flowers. The bride, who entered the church with Mr C. Watson, of Huntly, wore a graceful gown of ivory satin and lace cut on classical lines, the bodice being fashioned with a V neckline and long Bishop sleeves, while the skirt fell to form a long scalloped train. Her ivory tulle veil fell to form a second train and she carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and asters. Miss Gladys Russell, of Huntly, was the bridesmaid and wore a frock of ice-blue crepe, fashioned with a full skirt and frilled bolero. A spray of cyclamen flowers finished the neckline and the same shaded floweps were worn on the hair, while her posy was composed of dahlias and asters in cyclamen shades. Mr Harold Whittington, of Hamilton. was the best man. After the ceremony a reception was held in Mrs McPherson’s Tearooms, Te Kauwhata, which had been arranged with bowls of blue and petunia shaded flowers, a silver wedding bell being suspended over the bridal table. Mrs C. Watson received the guests wearing a frock of saxe blue lace with a picture hat to tone and she carried a posy in cyclamen shades. The bridegroom’s mother was wearing a navy blue ensemble with a matching Breton sailor hat. and she carried a posy composed or red flowers. The bride travelled wearing a navy tailored costume with navy hat and accessories. Mr and Mrs J. E. Murray will make , their home in Te Kauwhata.
