JUNIOR FARMERS

SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW The importance of being up-to-date in all scientific methods of farming was emphasised in an address to junior farmers by Sir Samuel Hordern, president of the Australian Royal Agricultural Society, at the Royal Show in Sydney. It was essential, said Sir Samuel, that they keep their eyes open and always endeavour to know the “how, when, and why” of farming.

Mr E. J. Shaw, president of the Queensland Royal Agricultural Society, asked the boys to be generous and pass on to others something of what they had learnt through their visit to Sydney.

The growth of Junior Farmers’ Clubs in Victoria was mentioned by Mr H. A. Anderson, senior vice-pre-sident of the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria. The clubs in that State now numbered more than 300, he said.
