April 17 The Italian Naval Year Book assert* that Germany is building a 40,000-ton battleship, if this is so. it is considered certain that France and Italy will follow suit. Hitherto, only Britain, the United states and Japan have ordered battleships exceeding 35.000 tons, the Continental Powers tacitly observing the limit set by the TVeaty of London.
