PIHA FIRE SEQUEL
ANOTHER REMAND GRANTED CASE TO BE HEARD ON APRIL 18 (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Thursday Gordon Robert McKay, alias Tom Bowlands, wool and skin dealer (43), and James Arthur Talbot, labourer (38), appeared on remand to-day charged that at Piha on or about February 12 they wilfully set fire to a dwelling owned by Frank Carew Thomas and thereby committed arson, and that on or about February 10, at Auckland, they improperly interfered with a dead human body, the body of Patrick Henry Shine. Detective-Sergeant McHugh asked for a further remand until Tuesday, April 18, stating that the case would be proceeded with on that date.
The magistrate said he had arranged for at least two or three days for the hearing. The remand was granted.
