5. To avoid disqualification, Exhibitors must be careful to enter birds in their proper classes. All birds hatched in the year previous to July Ist shall be considered as having attained the age of twelve months and must be exhibited in the adult classes except where otherwise stated. 6. Entries will not be accepted from any person or persons suspended by the North or South Island Poultry Associations. If persons entering exhibits are afterwards discovered by the Club or Society that received such entries to have offended against either the South or North Island Associations’ Rules, they shall not be entitled to claim any prize money or trophies that they may have won, or to receive refund of any moneys paid to the Association. 7. Exhibitors are requested to preserve entry papers received from the Secretary. The responsibility for the accuracy of the description, legibility of figures, and for the eligibility to compete of the birds entered in the following classes, rests solely with the Exhibitors. 8. Entries must be made on printed forms to be obtained from the Secretary. No entry valid unless entry fee is paid at time of entry. 9. Arrangements will be made for receiving and forwarding exhibits to and from the railway station free of charge; any exhibit on which the freight is unpaid will not be accepted. 10. All reasonable care will be taken of the birds both in receiving from and delivering to the railway station and during the Show also in repacking them in their baskets or crates; but the Association will not be responsible for any mistake, delay, negligence, loss damage from whatever cause arising or by whomsoever caused, the birds being exhibited at the sole risk of the Exhibitors. In the case of the death of any bird it will be returned to the owner.

11. Exhibitors are particularly requested to mark on the coop the classes for which the birds are entered, and to be individually identified. N.B.—Cards will be printed and supplied to Exhibitors for the purpose. Exhibitors not complying -with this may be refused benching, and birds penned for exhibition only. Owner’s name and address must be legibly marked on the coops to ensure safe return. On the entry of each bird a tag will be furnished each exhibitor specifying the catalogue number of entry, which tag must be attached to the bird when forwarding to the Show. Any marks found on the tags other than official numbers written on by the Secretary will render the owner liable to prompt disqualification. All rings, with the exception of Pigeon rings, must be removed before penning. During the Show the whole of the birds exhibited will be in the custody of the Committee, and may not be touched or handled either by the owner or by any authorised person without having obtained the authority of the officer in charge. The receipt ticket will admit ,the person bringing them to the Show when accompanying such birds on their first entering without the use of any other ticket. 12. No bird suffering from any contagious disease will be admitted to the Show, or if admitted through oversight, on discovery of the same it shall forthwith be removed. 13. The official award and number card of the Committee will be placed on each coop, cage, or specimen. No other card will be allowed. 14. The Judges appointed to award the Prizes will be instructed to disqualify and mark any pen which they detect to be tampered or improperly dealt with, and to state in writing the reason for such disqualification. 15. Should any exhibit be disqualified on the ground of fraud, all prizes that may have been awarded to other exhibits of the same owner will be forfeited.
