LAND FOR NEW ROAD
ACCESS TO WEST SCHOOL A request that the Hamilton Borough Council should take steps for the acquisition, under the Public Works Act, of part of the land in the neighbourhood of the new Hamilton West School site land at present owned by the Automobile Association) for the formation of a new road from Richmond Avenue to Hammond Street, was received from the Auckland Education Board at the meeting of the council last evening. The board, the letter staled, had no power to take the land, as it was not required for inclusion in the school site. The board, however, would undertake to pay the claim for compensation and other attendant expenses. On the motion of Ihe Mayor. Mr 11. D. Caro, it was resolved lo instruct the borough solicitor to arrange for the taking over of the land, as requested.
